Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Has Officially Released the Notification for the Civil Services Examination 2022. you can Check the Latest UPSC Syllabus for this year Exam. UPSC civil service examinations are divided into three parts, first stage is preliminary examination and the second stage is UPSC Mains examination and the final stage is interview selection. In this article we will discuss about the detailed notification of the UPSC 2022 examination, including syllabus, UPSC Exam eligibility, exam pattern and the detailed optional subject syllabus.   1. For the Indian administrative service, the Indian Foreign service and the Indian police service a candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August 2022.
  3. A candidate must hold a graduate degree of any of the universities recognised by the government of India.

List of Subjects for UPSC Prelims

  1. The prelims examination cell comprise of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.
  2. Both the question papers will be of the objective type multiple choice questions and each will be of 2 hours duration.
  3. The General studies paper 2 of the civil service preliminary examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%
  4. The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.

Paper I – (200 Marks)

  • History of India and Indian National movement
  • Indian and World geography-physical, social, economic geography of India and the world.

Paper II – (200 Marks)

Paper II of the prelims examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks at 33%. the questions will be of multiple choice and objective type. it is mandatory for the candidate to appear in both the papers of civil service prelims Examination. A candidate will be disqualified in case he/ she does not appear in both the papers of civil service prelims examination.

The Mains examination is intended to assess the overall intellectual traits and depth of understanding of candidates rather than merely the range of the information and memory.

Qualifying Papers on Indian languages and English

the aim of the paper is to test the candidates ability to read and understand serious prose, and to express ideas clearly and correctly in English and Indian language concerned. The pattern of the questions would be as follows
