SSC Pharmacist Eligibility Criteria 2026

You must meet these basic requirements (post-wise details are in the official notice):

  • Age Limit: Generally 18 to 27 or 18 to 30 years (as on 01.01.2026). Age relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per government rules.
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Pharmacist (Allopathic): 12th pass + Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or B.Pharm from a recognised institute + valid registration with Pharmacy Council of India/State Pharmacy Council.
    • Ayurvedic Pharmacist: Diploma in Ayurvedic Pharmacy or equivalent.
    • Homoeopathic Pharmacist-cum-Clerk: Relevant diploma in Homoeopathy Pharmacy.
    • Pharmacist-cum-Clerk (DGHS): 12th + D.Pharm.
  • Nationality: Indian citizen.
  • Other: Candidates must be physically fit as per the post requirement.

SSC Pharmacist Exam Pattern 2026

SSC will conduct a single-tier Computer Based Test (CBT):

  • Total Marks: 200
  • Duration: 60 minutes (80 minutes for scribe candidates)
  • Sections: General Intelligence (25Q/50M), General Awareness (25Q/50M), Quantitative Aptitude (25Q/50M), English Language (25Q/50M)
  • Negative Marking: 0.50 marks for each wrong answer

The exam level depends on the post (10+2 or Graduation). No interview – final selection is based on CBT marks + document verification.
